On August 29, at Smith State Prison, a Tattnall County Deputy noticed a tan sedan pulling away from behind the institution’s fire station. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and called in the K-9 unit. Once the canine unit arrived on the scene the drug dog searched the vehicle and signaled the canine handler of a hit on the car. The vehicle was searched and a black trash bag was located behind the driver’s seat on the floor. Inside the bag, the following contraband was detected: 120 balls of tobacco wrapped in black electrical tape, 13 cellular phones, and a small bundle of a green leafy substance that appeared to be marijuana. The Georgia Department of Corrections Criminal Investigation Division (CID) assisted Tattnall County Sheriff’s Office with the arrest of civilians Natalie Davis, Angelika Williams and Michael Hudson. Upon arrest it was discovered that Michael Hudson also had an active warrant out of Cartersville, Ga.
